Nicholas Negreponte


Nicholas Negreponte is one of the most prominent scientists on Computer-aided design and Media Analysis. He is the co-founder and director of the MIT Media Laboratory, where he is also professor of Media Technology. The Media Lab is supported by nearly 170 corporations all around the world and has led to the development of fields, such as multimedia and digital video.

Currently, the Lab has focused its research on how electronic information overlaps with the everyday physical world. Nicholas Negreponte is a graduate of MIT and a member of the MIT faculty since 1996. His most famous book, "Being Digital", has been translated in more than 40 languages. Professor Negreponte is also a major contributor of the private sector serving on the board of directors of Motorola Inc. and also a foremost start-up fund provider for more than 20 companies, such as the WiReD Magazine.

Zagori: Villages hidden behind mountains
