Opening with a new-look "Wine Museum Kostas Lazaridis"
A unique for Greek and international standards Wine Museum has been created in the multi-purpose area of Oenotria Earth in Costa Lazaridis field in Kapandriti, Attica. A Museum that stands out due to its aesthetics, its sophisticated organization and the uniqueness of exhibits and objects it hosts. The "Wine Museum Kostas Lazaridis" has been completely renovated and is inaugurated on October 9, 2011, offering an educational journey yo ancient Greece, Egypt and Mesopotamia all te way to the countries of the New World, helping the visitor understand all the life stages of the grape from the vineyard to the bottle's unique taste.
Numerous exhibits and artifacts from the 17th century to the present day, that were collected by Kostas Lazaridis and his colleagues with great enthusiasm in the last 25 years, are paired with modern audio-visual media, so that visitors will be able to form a global opinion on the history and the production of wine and spirits. Presses, pumps, tools, vintage, wine-making bodies, barrels, corks, bottles, bottle openers and many other objects, displayed in spaces that have been shaped by the architect-painter John Nano to create a stately and ritualistic atmosphere, as Dionysus gifts deserve. In the Spitrits Museum, visitors will see old and modern instruments and stills, the distillation process to discover both the raki and grape spirits.
The Wine Museum Kostas Lazarides being a place that celebrates vine, its products and the inextricable relationship with man since ancient times until today, will be inaugurated, Sunday, October 9, 2011, by internationally renowned wine-making, partner Domaine Lazaridis, Michel Rolland.
Rolland is a partner of Kostas Lazarides' wineries since 2004 as a consultant for the improvement of wine and especially red wines, some of which bear his signature. The field of Constantin Lazaridis is the only Greek winery which has agreed to cooperate, thus appearing in the chart of the most reputable wineries (clients of Rolland) internationally. The Wine Museum Kostas Lazaridis will open its doors to the public on Monday, October 10 and will be open daily 10.00-17.00 and 11.00-15.00 Saturday and Sunday.
