The 4th annual Animasyros Festival and Forum dedicated to the art of animation is taking place in Hermoupolis, on the island of Syros, from September 15 through 18. The festival features competition screenings, special screening tributes to international animation festivals, a professional forum and educational workshops as well as other parallel events such as book presentations.
Overall, the screening program includes 130 films from 45 countries - 65 of which are included in the official competition section of the Festival, having been selected among more than 600 participations. This year animasyros hosts tributes to the following distinguished festivals: Anima Brussels International Animation Film Festival, Hiroshima International Animation Festival, Anim'est International Animation Festival and Be there! Corfu Animation Festival, as well as a tribute to 75 years of animation films from Africa.
