Great Russian Painters at Theoharakis Foundation

The B&M Theoharakis Foundation for Fine Arts and Music is hosting an exhibition called Great Russian Painters 1920-2010, presenting artworks which belong to the permanent Manege Gallery collection in St. Petersburg. 120 artworks showcase the multifaceted history of contemporary art in Russia starting from the Interbellum to the present time.

 

The compilation includes iconic Russian modernist artists and covers a wide range of artistic movements, such as folk painting, art in the perestroika and meta-perestroika era.

The exhibition, which is organized under the auspices of the Russian Embassy in Athens, starts on December 15 and runs through March 2012.

Zagori: Villages hidden behind mountains
