Thessaloniki Biennale of Young Artists

From October 6 to November 7, Thessaloniki is one of the two hosts of the 15th edition of the Biennale of Young Artists from Europe and the Mediterranean - the other being Rome.

This is a large multidisciplinary festival dedicated to young artists with over 500 under-30 participants from 47 countries of the Euro-Mediterranean area taking part.

The focus of the Thessaloniki part of the Biennale is visual and applied arts, performances and gastronomy.

The festival includes: exhibitions, residency programmes, site-specific projects, live shows and performances, seminars and conferences, as well as a related food festival. Then Rome will host concerts, readings and screenings of films from December 16 to 18.

This year, the Biennale’s theme is Symbiosis? calling on artists, through their work, to renegotiate the meaning of living with the Other and reject political ethnic and socioeconomic prejudices. With a large participation of volunteers, the Thessaloniki Biennale is organized by the General Secretariat for Youth, the municipality of Thessaloniki and the Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art.
