Part of the periphery of Northern Aegean, Limnos is an ancient land. It is perhaps the most peaceful and exclusive of all the major islands of the Northern Aegean archipelago. Its surface is dominated by volcanic landscapes, extended fields of crops and grapevines, significant wetlands and a particularly jagged coastline. Dotted with prestigious archaeological sites, gem-like villages and a swathe of sandy beaches, it is increasingly becoming popular among travelers seeking for a relaxing island getaway.

Agios Efstratios:

For those looking for a genuine island getaway, Agios Efstratios is an ideal destination. Some twenty miles off the coasts of Limnos, this small island has plenty to offer- from a diverse volcanic landscape to warm hospitality and beaches seemingly untouched by man. The sole village is Agios Efstratios, which features some fine samples of early 20h-centrury Northern Aegean architecture such as the Maraslios School as well as beautiful churches and chapels like Agios Nikolaos and Agios Vasilios. There are plenty of small and secluded beaches to choose from in the eastern and western part of the island. The most frequented is the one at the edge of the village but it is also worth taking the trip to Mouroulia, Ftelio, Agios Antonios, Alanitsi and Tragari.
