Discover a moonscape beach in the island of Mylos

Mylos island is really famous for its charming and lovely beaches. The volcanic rocks that keep engaging into a constant play to the nature’s elements, do create an idyllic atmosphere. Although there are more than 70 beaches with clear crystalline waters, Sarakiniko is the best honeymoon destination. It is located in the northern side of the island and resembles a moonscape of unique atmosphere and beauty. Sarakiniko, took its name by the Saracen pirates. It overlooks Sifnos and Kimolos islands, while we suggest you visit it not only in the morning but also at night (especially in a full moon period).

Sarakiniko’ soft white cliffs can reflect even the moon’s strong light by creating a unique honeymoon landscape. You also need to know that Sarakiniko beach is the most photographed Aegean scenery, thus, your camera (after your partner) will be your closest friend there. The eroded volcanic rocks penetrate the emerald sea, by creating large and small caves. If we combine that to the lack of green space, combined to the white rocks and the intense glare of light, an unforgettable scenery will appear in front of your eyes.

Tip: We recommend you to visit Sarakiniko when north winds don’t blow around the beach.
