Honeymoon at Vlychada Cave

If you still look for the ideal honeymoon destination, “Thatsgreece” has the right solution. We suggest you to visit Diros Cave complex and explore it by boat. Diros cave complex is regarded as the most beautiful and romantic lake destination around the world and is composed of three different caves; Vlychada, Alepotrypa and Katafygi. The last two, are not accessible since various investigations have taken place there over time.

The entrance of Diros complex is on the beach so you can start your daily excursion early in the morning (8 AM) by renting a private boat. Vlychada is considered as one of the most impressive caves globally due to its colorful and splendid decoration. It occupied the first place among the three most beautiful lake caves in the world (Pantirak southern France and Zaita in Beirut). Although the first part of the cave was discovered by Mr. Peter Arapakis in 1898, its systematic exploration began by Mr and Mrs John and Anna Petrochilou in 1949. The cave’s main feature is its large and colorful stalactites that are connected to the bottom of the cave, and stalagmites that represent various forms of humans or animals. The tour in Vlychada cave lasts for 30 minutes and is completed only by boat.
