Attica Zoo Park – A journey to the five continents

Attica zoological park is the only zoo park in Greece that hosts every year hundreds of thousands of visitors from all over the world. People of all ages come here to experience a unique five continent journey through 2.000 animals from 350 different species. The zoo covers an overall area of 200 acres and is considered as a best choice family activity just 1 hour far from the centre of Athens. Your children will feel like being in heaven through an enormous animal collection of birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians and insects. Moreover, marine mammals (Dolphins “Tursiops Trunsacatus Ponticus” and California sea lions “Zalophus Californianus”) is considered a unique attraction here both for young and older guests too.

The reptile room will transfer you into the heat and humidity jungle conditions. Here you will explore stuffed butterflies from all over the world, as well as impressive sized scorpions. The African Savannah is the largest and most impressive area of the Park including giraffes, zebras, antelopes and ostriches. Moreover, the bear area hosts 4 brown bears (2 under captivity conditions). The parrot collection is the most popular area with special emphasis on white parrot (white kokatou) that is really friendly to the children. You will finally get impressed by the enclosed space of apes and monkeys

Zagori: Villages hidden behind mountains
