Discover the universe in Penteli mountain

If you belong to the universe lovers who enjoy discovering alternative places to explore the space and the starlight you should absolutely visit Peneteli mountain and its National Observatory. Penteli Observatory is part of the National Observatory of Athens and was built in 1950. The Observatory hosts one of the greatest telescopes called Newall. Newall telescope that was installed in Penteli Astronomical Station, was constructed by Pentelic marble. Although the telescope is not used anymore for scientific research, its historical and educational value is however enormous.

They don’t only gain the treasure of knowledge during seminars, lectures and nightly observations through Newall telescope, but they also come closer to one of the most beautiful mountains in Attica. Moreover, Penteli Observatory produces films of astronomical content through a specially designed room for guests and universe lovers. Penteli Observatory has invited more than 250,000 since 1995.
