Visit Lesvos Sweet Festival

Lesvos rural festival is a sweet celebration of the fruits of nature that takes place in the island for the last 12 years. It is hold at the Petrified Forest of Lesvos (July) while the traditional sweets are always prepared by the island’s Women Agricultural Association. If you belong to the group of travelers you enjoy traditional flavors and fragrances, then you should join the local festive and experience a colorful sweet experience. Visitors who arrive here must be ready to travel through their five senses towards a unique tasty pathway of healthy fruit sweets made of sugar and fresh syrup.

Olive, chestnut, watermelon, quince, antzouri tomatoes, grated zucchini, orange, bitter orange, neratzaki, eggplant, lemon, grapefruit, quince, grapes are only some of the tempting sweets that you should absolutely taste. The sweets are always made of natural ingredients through women’s traditional and mystic recipes. Each year, thousands of visitors from all over the world arrive here to learn, try and trust the island’s sweets, through a long list of selected species are recipes. The candy sweets are closely tied to the island’s tradition and customs and are an integral part of our cultural heritage. Nowadays, our grandmother’s unforgettable sweets, suit perfectly to the modern diet by offering a unique variety of flavors like the old traditional manner.
