Unbroken spiritual vibes at the Holy mountain

Agion Oros (Holy Community of Mount Athos) is an autonomous monastic republic on the southeastern part of Hlkidiki’s third finger. It is considered as the center of Orthodox monasticism and is completely devoted to the worship of God and prayer. Mount Athos is an extraordinary and spiritual place that is also dedicated to Virgin Mary. By this, we realize that there is no space for other women and this is the main reason for being visited only by men. Although the natural beauty of the peninsula is extraordinary, however, Mount Athos dominates at a height of 2,033 meters.

The top of the Holy mountain is like spearing the sky while its magical slopes create a majestic scenery for the visitor. Agion Oros covers an area of almost 350 sq km with several monasteries to remind you of a walled medieval city. By your arrival at the monastery you will be surrounded by several small churches, trees and bells of various shapes and sizes. Monks will welcome you warmly by offering you water, coffee, raki and sweets. Around 16:00 PM guests gather at the central monastery courtyard to attend Vespers. Visitors can worship the monastery’s Holy Relics, relax, meditate or discuss with monks who will listen to them patiently and advise them wisely. Agion Oros is a unique spiritual activity that will allow you to come closer to your inner self and admire an enormous world heritage site.
