Fidas S.A. (Boxer)

Ioannis FIdas (1885-1978) in 1919 launched a handmade shoe business in Kalamata, Messinia, after his twelve year stay in the United States of America as an immigrant. He marked his first foundations creating a large clientele and a special name in his local community. Later his son Dimitri Fidas, learnt how to design the technique and the making of a shoe and continued in his fathers footsteps.

After the Second World War, Dimitri Fidas, restarted his business from the beginning. So, together with his wife Maria Fidas  moved to Athens where they opened their first small home industry and created their respected name in the field of the shoe industry. Their first privately-owned factory was built (1961) in the suburb of Ano Patissia and that's how their home industry developed into an industry with several workers and modern equipment of that time resulting in an increase in production, quality shoes and an expansion of clientele throughout Greece.
In 1968, the company progressed to a Limited corporation with the discreet title " D.I. FIDAS A.E." as it stands today. In 1974 the second privately owned factory was built in Acharnes. It was much bigger and more modern which resulted in a continuous rise and demand for shoes. It was there, that the "D.I FIDAS A.E" production grew not only in Greece but in many other countries as well. Numerous exports began - mainly to Germany, Russia and England making the company the largest in production in the Shoe Industry.

In 2006 , the company took advantage of the European Investment Programs set up by the Ministry of Economic Development. It took part and was approved for the amount of a 10.000.000 euro investment scheme. In this way it was able to develop and expand more, by building the third privately owned factory in the industrial area of Acharnon, and buying state-of the-art equipment in shoe manufacturing. In 2010, once construction was accomplished the company spread its production with the presupposition of expanding more of their merchandise abroad.
