Creta Farm S.A.

Creta Farm S.A. was founded in 1979 by the Domazakis family and is headquartered in Rethymno, Greece. The company mainly engages in the import, production, herding and trade of animals and the production of fresh and deep frozen meat products. Furthermore, the company today operates in the field of restaurant and alimentation fields. The company offers its services primarily in Greece, Cyprus, and the United States. The company was first established as a societe anonyme of the family smaller businesses. It soon however increased its activities and by 1987 a preserved meet production branch was had been added to the business group. 
     

The greatest development in the course of Creta farm’s success was in 2000 when the company entered the parallel market of the Athens stock exchange increasing significantly its equity. It was also that year when the company opened the Farma Thessalias subsidiary who bought the facilities and equipment of ELVIC S.A. In the next years the company also acquired TETO-FARMA in Kynouria Arcadia and KARNA at Kryoneri Attica further increasing its growth.
 CRETA Farm also managed to register and secure its patents in Europe America and Asia, safeguarding its unique line of “en-elladi” products, a method of creating meet-based products by replacing fat with olive oil. The company today has spread internationally with the subsidiaries CRETA FARM (CYPRUS) LTD and CRETA FARMS USA.LLC. The company hopes to expand to other mature markets like such as Great Britain, Italy, Russia, Canada, China and Japan.

Zagori: Villages hidden behind mountains
