Although Arahova never flourished and bloomed the way Galaxidi did, since it was high up in the mountains, it was an affluent village owing to olive production and livestock. It has a distinct architectural style which has also been preserved with the church of Agios Georgios, built on a dominating high spot and on whose saint's day just after Easter each year, a colorful pageant is held. In winter, Arahova is bustled with people, particularly over the weekends, owing to its proximity with the Mount Parnassus ski slopes.
