Arahova is renowned for its cuisine and has a number of excellent tavernas and "ouzo shops", providing a variety of meat dishes, soups with a predominantly spicy flavor and plentiful locally produced olive oil. Galaxidi, on the other hand, is full of fish tavernas with its own variety of "ouzo shops" providing a vast array of "ouzo mezedes", fried squid, octopus, white bait and other culinary delights, such as fried zucchini balls and other inventive delicious items. Apart from the plentiful ouzo available throughout the area, both in the mountains and at the seaside, Arahova also produces a dry red barrel wine which is excellent with meat dishes.
